This is natural black rutilated quartz, a gemstone with black needle-like crystals embedded in transparent quartz. Although similar in appearance to black tourmalinated quartz, black rutilated quartz refers to stones where the black crystal component contains 30% or more iron, and when held up to the light, it appears faintly reddish-brown. It is a highly rare stone that has become difficult to obtain in recent years.
This particular piece features a rare slice cut. It has flat facets on the front and back, with fine cuts along the edges. The clarity of the base quartz is high, allowing you to clearly see the rutile. One of the stones contains a green inclusion. Please be aware of this in advance.
